As I was sitting, on the floor, in another huge airport. I ponder why I am sitting on the floor looking at dozens of empty airport seats. Where I am sitting in this particular airport (Las Vegas) the seats are in rows of three, back to back, stacked down the aisle for approximately 5 pairs of two. So all in there are 30 seats, of which 22 are occupied. I am sitting on the floor, with several other people I don’t know, looking at 8 empty chairs. My only thought is that I am not alone in cherishing my personal space. I would rather sit on the floor by myself than 3 inches from someone I don’t know. So instead of complaining I have come up with a solution. If the airport seat manufacturers would just put 3-6 inches between each seat there would be enough personal space for almost everyone and it would actually save space at the airport. As I sit here on the floor, there are at least 8 other people sitting on the floor, taking up significantly more floor space than a chair. If the airport seat manufacturers would put 3-6 inches of space between each seat, less people would sit on the floor thus opening up lots of extra space at already overcrowded airports.
