Likoma Island to Livingstone Victoria Falls
The adventure continues as we progress South on our Africa Flying Safari. Today the trip takes us from Likoma Island airport in Malawi to Lusaka Zambia and then onto Livingstone Zambia which sits just on the boarder of Zimbabwe. Tonight we are staying at Royal Chundu on the Zambezi river, it is such a unique place. Every room at Royal Chundu is on the Zambezi river, your suite is on stilts over the river and there is a elevated walkway to get to your door.
Today’s flying was mostly uneventful, which is a good thing, when you are traveling over such vast expanses of wilderness. From Likoma Island we flew over Lake Malawi in a Southwest direction towards Kamuzu International in Lilongwe Malawi. After a quick stop to sort out some paperwork and get fuel we continued on to Kenneth Kaunda International in Lusaka Zambia to clear customs into Zambia and get some more fuel. From there we set out for our final destination of the day, Livingstone Zambia, home of the amazing Victoria Falls. I was flying so I didn’t get any pictures to post with this but I did have my gopros running, I hope to have some video to share as soon as I get back in the United States.
It’s a very short stay for me in Royal Chundu tonight, we are back on the road at 5:45am tomorrow. Luckily, we are staying at Royal Chundu on our way back to Kenya so my time on the Zambezi River is not over just yet. Maybe I’ll get to go fishing for Tiger Fish when we stay here on our way back.
