Painting Estelle Update
We are getting so close now. Erik and I went by Century Aircraft Paint today and argued about the radius of a particular circle we wanted to recreate. We must have spent 15 minutes trying to decide exactly how to reproduce a radius, and this makes me feel good. I know we are passionate about the outcome of this project. I also know, not everyone is going to love the paint scheme we have chosen. However, I will be the first to tell you that I love it. It isn’t period correct and we are not using colors that were available in the 50’s, but it will definitely attract attention to general aviation – Wingster’s primary objective. Wingster intends to illustrate that general aviation is fun and obtainable as opposed to hanging a sign on the airplane that says “DO NOT TOUCH”. This aircraft is meant to capture the imagination, bring back the memories and inspire new dreamers. I think you will agree when you see it complete that we accomplished our mission.
Thank you Century Aircraft Paint for putting up with us during this process. I know we have made it difficult at times but the outcome is proof of our passion and your commitment to execute our dreams. I think everyone will agree that the craftsmanship of the paint is second to none.
