Team Tuk It Initial Preparation
We are just a mere 197 days away from the starting line of our next adventure. The Rickshaw Run, certain to make for great stories. Just a little background, we have signed up for a Rickshaw Race across the entire width of India, 2,700KM in a glorified lawn mower and we’ve named our team Tuk It. That’s two weeks of driving a tuk tuk in some of the most inhospitable conditions, through unknown weather, with some of the most dangerous drivers in the world and we’re paying big money for the opportunity to join. I have no clue why something like this draws me as it does but I can tell you I CAN’T WAIT! Here I sit in my tent in Kenya, testing my 5 year old gopro batteries, trying to find enough that will work to get us through this adventure without having to invest in much additional equipment to capture the adventure.
We have started making preparations for which charities we are going to support on this adventure, I think we’ve pared it down to two very worthy charities that are making the world a better place, Equality Now and Coolearth Please check out the links to get to know these charities because I’m going to be asking for your support soon, you might as well know who you’re supporting. Remember, give until it hurts and you’ll feel better the rest of your life. 100% of the donations we receive go to our charities 100%, we personally fund our adventures so that everything we raise goes to our worthy causes.
Serious Tuk It Prep
Team Tuk It starts our race on April 15th, beats doing taxes and we have a ton of preparation to go before we’re anywhere near ready for this crazy adventure. I don’t even know how to get to the start line yet or how to get home from the finish line, if we make it. I can tell you that we’re taking this seriously though, this weekend we’re going to travel to the Kenyan coast, which is teaming with Tuk Tuk’s and beer, where we are going to do serious research into how both work.
